MYSPACE CLASSIC BLOG: "Happiness"

Just like leasing an apartment, a vehicle, a computer, or even furniture .... this also can be said about our experiences in life.

Whatever things attract us at this moment through our mouths, eyes, and ears won't even matter in a year or two from now. It'll eventually fade away into obscurity and will be history as we know it. Even the people who we share our company with whether they would be friends, coworkers or a even a sweetheart who you think might be the right one for you. They may be gone, as well, with only a few remaining. Sadly, it seems like we're all living a lease out of everything and everyone in life that we face through the etch of time (as they are supposed to make us merry and oh-so-happy at that exact moment - and its only temporary). Many of these are not to last forever as we are still charting the destiny for the happiness we really wish to seek in our lifetime.

Despite whatever obstacles come that might make us feel like we're losing, let's not hold out hope. I want you to be happy and blessed. Take note that while you're still living, you've got to do your very best within to capture the happiness you yearn for. It has to work from you alone. And you've got that spirit!

While people, trends, and things come and go, your happiness is always there for you for all time. This lease is forever :)

My cousin Erick was among hundreds of Bayside High graduates that received their diplomas earlier this evening. My brother Jeff, Joey and I tagged along for this milestone event that was jam-packed. My hearty congratulations to Bayside High's graduating class of 2007 and all the schools in the area that have graduating seniors this year. May their futures be very bright after the high school years :-)

My Message To All.

In a world that's now being filled with greed, power, and money from all around (i.e. highly overrated/overpaid celebrities and athletes, corporate tycoons particularly those eyeing on property and even oil, companies downsizing jobs for cheaper labor -- blech!!!!), many have left the thought of what was once simple and golden. Important values that were held dear for generations and generations by our descendants and family line are now on the verge of extinction, instead replaced now with wordly possessions and the need for more materialistic things (even them multifunctional technological devices) and such just to appease our life taking it to another level. We must let go of most of these before it starts to consume us more and make us heartless and perhaps more selfish and foolish, like what it did to me (yep, I'm being honest about it). We must focus on how we can regain the quality of life to our own standards - and not by what the world, or people go through in this everchanging society. Just look around you and magnify ten times more. Do you feel like you're changing along with your surroundings and the world's? All I can say is slow down a bit with the pace, use your heart more often, give decency and respect to those around you, and instill values such as giving and helping those in need. Also, improve your quality of life realizing your own flaws and mistakes rather than saying something bad about someone (as many would do these days). Ease a bit on the technology, too, as you can save money for something more important than those ... Throughout the last couple of years, I felt like I wanted it all (all of it) . Then I realized now that there's far more important things to improve my life upon besides those ... Living life is simply amazing especially on how we can control it all on our own terms and by our own means :)

The Sopranos' ending: What can be learned from a finale...

Many people watched the Sopranos' series finale last night on HBO and a majority of 'em were disappointed by the ending which "cut to black" all of a sudden. They definitely wouldn't "Fuhgeddabout it" as it was discussed everywhere the next day (today). As for me, well, uhm, I've never had a chance to watch a single Sopranos' episode, to tell you the truth. I'm one of the unique individuals who actually ignored it ever since it began a couple of years ago. For sure, it'll be a show to talk about in the years to come and that it's already becoming an iconic American classic all it's own. And that's how it is with other shows that have ran successfully in mainstream America. Most of 'em are already on DVDs (i.e. Entourage, Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, The Shield, etc.) some of which have yet to see it's ending on TV. And this is the part where TV land is ripping us off with our hard-earned money. I believe the DVDs should be released when the whole series is completely over - as in OVER! Then that'll do us more justice. Even more satisfying is that they should play reruns of some of these shows on a certain network. With all the channels you can get on cable or dish networks (which is on just about every household today), there should be reason to! Hmm, they should do this ON DEMAND, too. Imagine how wiser we would be to save rather than spending $$$ on a well-beloved series' that's about to have a crummy ending. C'mon people, let's start this trend!

Just wanted to let you know that my latest quote (above) which appears currently on my MySpace profile page received numerous praises and I thank those who were able to comment on it by way of MySpace notes and comments. It's true, especially in my life, after all the events that happened. In the end, it all goes back to 'me' in full circle - and that's how I can achieve more of the inner peace that I've been trying to find in my lifetime.

Leaving things behind; focusing forward to the future - in a new place ...

In the next few months (around 90 or so more days left), I'll be ready to start my life anew and fresh. A new zip code to live in. A new phone number to exist for my mobile phone. A rewarding career. New roads and routes for my car to drive to. A new set of people to meet and call "friends." Old friends and my dear family still around communicating to me by way of cyberspace and on the phone. Other old faces in the next city yet to be reunited with. Reacquainting myself with an old friend from the past who will be a major force in my transition there. Time to leave all of the past (including the painful ones) in my old place. Ready for more responsibilities and total independence! It's like scripting a new chapter in my life. It doesn't get any better than this. This is all I'm thinking of right now at this moment - to prepare for this outing. I am really looking forward to it. For now, I'll breeze through Virginia and enjoy the last days for what they are worth perhaps with several people whom I love dearly ... It's never too late to enjoy what life has still yet to offer. There's always hope and the dream and finding that pursuit of happiness, especially after all I've went through in life :)

Anjanette Abayari

To the Philippine movie industry, her name was very synonymous in the 1990s especially when she was doing a modernized version of a super-hero classic called, "Darna" (the Philippines' equivalent to Wonder Woman). Anjanette Abayari was met with success and being known to many. Seemed that things were going her way. However, her stardom seemed to be in the dust after 2000, especially after President Estrada banned her from the country because of drug-related matters and that the government were looking for celebrities harboring in drugs. Her arrest happened in Guam. However, in an online article HERE, she denied using drugs and that there were traces of drugs found in her make up kit unbeknownst to her. I wonder what she's been up to lately after all this. I was watching a few clips of "Darna" on YouTube and although it is rather cheesy or corny by today's standards, there's still that great sense of appreciation to it. It's one of the best things we can remember her by. She was also the good-looking chick in Timmy T's classic music video, "One More Try" a song that was very popular during my high school days. See young Anjanette in her very best HERE ... I don't know what the future holds of Anjanette Abayari. I hope she resurfaces back to stardom. It's only a matter of time that the Philippines will see more of her again. For now, she's probably enjoying the U.S. life and finding the peace through it all. Lasting images of the model-turned-actress are also found HERE and HERE again ... It is also known that she was a Raiderette cheerleader for the NFL's then-L.A. Raiders ... June 2nd: A Day To Reflect on Happiness & Sadness.

Today is Saturday. A friend of mine's is having his baby baptized in the church today and that it is a happy moment for him and his family. Elsewhere, another friend (along w/ her family) is grieving over the loss of a family member, as her funeral is set at the same day. And this moment is indeed sad. At the same time, I feel "happy" and "sad" regarding these events. All of this is a cycle - life and death. Through it all, we have to make the most of life while we are still living.

Fast Food & The Workers

I don't usually rely on fast food to get my day going. However, there are times that I do eat those when I have a certain craving for it, or if I'm just plain lazy to make my own meal for work. Then, there's another scenario in which I eat fast food just to save some money on my budget during a trip ... The last thing mentioned actually happened recently. My friends and I went to Ocean City, MD on a wonderful Sunday morning. We ate at McDonald's along Route 50. Breakfast was on its last hour. All of us took the breakfast deluxe that consisted of scrambled eggs, beef patty, pancakes, and hash browns. Yummy, huh. Well, uhm, all didn't went according to plan. Jimmy was doing good and had his order ready with no problem. My friend Raymond and I had this one cashier. She was doing her job. However, her listening skills didn't seem to be attentive. And I've seen her make mistake after mistake facing each customer. Either she was having a bad day, or she's really like that. The other fast food workers seem to do a good job in their performance despite being busy just to meet the customer's expectations on the fast-delivery of the food. She was doing me wrong like she did to my friend, Raymond. She wasn't listening to him when he said, "For here." (indicating he is dining in.) Instead she put his meal in a bag and gave it to him. And as for me, I was missing a hash brown for my order. She kept me waiting for a while but I kept my composure intact. I told her what happened and she seemed to have listened (as I was assuming because of what I see in her body language). But I was fooled. Another coworker (probably a supervisor or so) gave me my hash brown after I said it wasn't in my deluxe breakfast. He was cool. Then she did the unthinkable. She rang me up for $1.05. I reiterated to her once again, "This hash brown was missing from my meal." I told her I wasn't paying for it. Then she rolled her eyes at me and I proceeded back at the table to join my friends. It sucks she didn't listened to me and I thought she did. What a bad impression she has left on me, but I know it's not McDonald's fault. And the situation could've been worst had I been so hostile and acting ignorant towards her ... I thought that was the end of it. Now it happened at Wendy's today. The listening process from a worker was again a part of the conflict. This was at the Drive-thru. I was telling them that I wanted 2 crispy chicken sandwiches and it took like a minute for them to tally my totals. It's funny how silent the speaker was. I thought I was expecting a reply right away. Seems that there may have been a lot going on inside. Then the worker said that I have to pay $3.28 for 3 crispy chicken sandwiches. And I'm like, "Here we go again." Being it the second go around, I still maintained my composure and tolerance to another unexpected situation. When they were asking me for my money, I spoke to her clearly and loud (a bit, just for the worker to hear) but still kept myself calm even with a smile when it came to clarifying my order. It took at least around a minute or 2 to get the order done again as she was getting assistance from the supervisor in charge. Then, a sigh of relief. I was able to eat my sandwiches at work and conveniently return myself to my tasks at hand. You see, even with some patience and some do-good attitude, you can always turn a negative to a positive - and that things'll be okay no matter what circumstance it would be, like the fast food situation. I'm sure the workers from both fast food chains will do a pretty good job in the times to come and do well in their performance and evaluations. Like all of us Americans who work a job, they (the fast food workers) should also get the same sense of appreciation they deserve even during the tough days. We all have a role respectively in what we do and they do, too, as they serve us food - day in and day out.

PICTURE BLOG #5: "Lola and MJ"

This digital photograph originates from my cousin Donna's community-related webpage. Here, you see my "Lola" (my grandmother who turned 82 just recently) and her grandson MJ (Donna's son) in the Philippines. It's a really great family moment seeing the generations (old and new) together in one shot ... I hope to return to the Philippines one day and see both of them. And when I get that opportunity, it'll open my eyes more about life and it's values, in general, as well as seeing more of the people we love so dear to our hearts.

My Parakeet, BLUE-JAE, passes away ...

BLUE-JAE is gone. My bird-buddy of 6 years succumbed to respiratory-related illness last Saturday evening, while under care in a veterinarian clinic based out in Virginia Beach. Looking at BLUE-JAE in his last hours wasn't easy. He could no longer hold strong to the cage like he used to, or even spread his wings to fly. To make it even worse, he falls down and I can see him shaking his head. It is very sad to see him go through the pain but he avoids most of that as he is taking several naps for most of the day ... I have to give him the praise for always being a fighter who stuck around right to the very end. Whether he would bleed and almost die in one instance (after being in a cage accident), he kept on - to live! And whenever he felt like he was shunned out from other parakeets, I was always there to make him feel welcome by feeding him (making my presence known) and sometimes talking to him about my life (like he was listening). BLUE-JAE just had this wonderful aura. He always made me get that sense of appreciation on anything especially as I was facing certain challenges along the way. We played with each other a whole lot by winking our eyes together left and right and saying a bunch of shrills that would hype him up from the get go ... BLUE-JAE's lasting impression might appear to be agonizing, but his courage to live gave me a renewed spirit to do the same. As he climbed the ladder one more time, he staggered but continued on. He reached out his head and extended his neck to take another initial step. Even though I appeared concerned, I smiled with ease cheering him on and saying he did a good job. BLUE-JAE in his illness was no longer active. Gone were his golden days - especially with his cage-mate YAM. YAM and I did everything we could to provide our careness for him in his last hours. She plumed his feathers as he was feeling really weak and leaned on her for support. That was nice of her to do ... I wasn't there for BLUE-JAE's burial and looking at him dead is so hard for me to take. However, he did left one indication, one reminder - a winking of one eye - the thing we used to do. BLUE-JAE's remains is now on the back left portion of the backyard. Before the burial, my brother Jayson showed BLUE-JAE to YAM. He was letting her know that BLUE-JAE's time has come and that he'll now be in a better place somewhere. Plus, it was proper to say goodbye especially them being such a good team for a long, long time. There will always be BLUE-JAE & YAM. They will be so synonymous in my life forever. BLUE-JAE'S legacy will live on to YAM and other parakeets JUNIOR & his partner JESSIE. And coming soon in BLUE-JAE'S place will be a new addition to the bird line-up: MARCUS. He will fill in the void that BLUE-JAE has left behind. BLUE-JAE, wherever you are, buddy, I will always love you and will think of you highly especially when things happen in my life. I know you're winking at me, my good friend :)

Movie was great, sometimes confusing, but overall quite satisfying for a treat.

This digital photo is given to me courtesy of my young brother, Jeffrey, who was on hand to see all the hype at the Redskins Beach Blitz '07 at the Virginia Beach Convention Center. Here he is in the middle of two of the team's beautiful cheerleaders Anna & Anabel. Football players (including Redskins great Gary Clark) were also present along with some of the coaches to sign autographs. That fully explains all the signatures that have now filled up almost entirely my brother's Redskins football.

"Transformers" is gonna rock!

What you see above is the official "Transformers" movie poster from Japan(written entirely in Japanese). Looks totally awesome, doesn't it? Putting robots faces and Japanese words blend in so well in this composition, especially it (Japan) being the place that the Transformers concept was really conceived and originated ... I have a good feeling that this movie will be one of the big box office winners of the year! Even though there were a few concepts in which I've disagreed on regarding some of the robots' appearance in the movie, I still think it won't hurt audiences of all generations who would want to see it, especially toy lovers and collectors. Looking at several previews and TV spots, I'm beginning to accept them now. Plus, you've got Peter Cullen who did Optimus Prime's voice from the 1984 cartoon series and Hugo Weaving (of Matrix movies) as Megatron - can't beat that! Then you got stars like the hot Megan Fox, "Holes" star Shia LaBouf, Josh Duhammel of "Las Vegas", Jon Voight and Tyrese. Movie's gonna rock! You bet I'm getting my ticket to see this movie on opening night!

My Dream Vacation: Philippines

Almost all my life, I have been living mainly in the United States. Hardly went anywhere. Never went out of the country since. I easily assimilated into the culture without difficulty. I easily fell in love with the American lifestyle and blending in with other people of different cultures and backgrounds, particularly in school where I've first experienced this. Then it seemed that the "filipino" part of myself was disappearing. Also, even though my parents spoke the tagalog and ilocano dialects, I could never do the same while exchanging conversation with them. It was until the late 90s that I joined and volunteered with various filipino community organizations and started learning more about my country's origins and history. I learned a few vocabulary terms and sayings by even attending class at a community college .... Now it has come to all this. After experiencing the Filipino-American experience, I am now in the works to succeed on the next step - my dream vacation - destination: Philippines. This is where I can explore half of the magic I've lost in myself. I have to recapture the"filipino" side of my life. Now imagine that! As if it is that ultimate superpower I need to gain. I feel like friggin' Clark Kent who explores his origins to be the Man of Steel. I'm just getting into the swing of things by watching programs on The Filipino Channel/ ABS-CBN. If I go back to the Philippines, I can learn more of the culture, the people there, the relatives I've never seen, and the lifestyle itself. I'm hoping this dream vacation will likely happen once I complete my goal this year. Those around me know what "that goal" is and I'll do everything what it takes to get from one level to the next. While I'm living, this can become a reality - the dream of going to the Philippines. Stay tuned.

Ewwww ... I threw up some food.

I threw up. Ewwww! Yep, you heard that right. It happened last night four times. And it was something my mother cooked - broiled pork ribs marinated in barbecue sauce. I find it unusual that I loved this kind of food with a passion, yet my body rejected it somehow. It's a first, too, that I've eaten that because mother would usually broil pork ribs sans the barbecue sauce ... For those that me know very well, don't worry about me. I'm still in good shape and maintaining my health despite this going on. I feel a lot more better right now especially when I'm eating other type of foods on the side ... At the moment, I'm feeding my mind's appetite to filipino soaps. That's my latest addiction and I'm reclining on the couch comfortably with this laptop by my side.

Burning it ... Gaining it ... Burning it (again) ... and keeping it that way for a good health.

Last weekend, I had so much fun doing outdoor activities whether it would be doing yardwork (trimming the back and front lawn), playing tennis with my hitting pal Jimmy at the park, or even walking with relatives and friends in various locations. However, it wasn't just all about burning calories. I have decided to put something to the test: forming the "unlikeable" GUT. Yep, that's right. All that I've lost through the exercises, I gained everything back by doubling my intake of rice, eating 3 plates in a pizza buffet, as well as having 3 or 4 cups of soda. I realized in the end how much damage I was doing to myself. Just like what they said in the news: many Americans are facing obesity. I have to be honest with everyone out there - I am one of them that's being affected by this ... Right now, I'm burning the calories again and losing that gut. And I hope to keep it that way by eating healthy and exercising more frequently. Working in an office environment, I have to try more harder with confidence (hint hint: play the "Rocky" theme and I'll definitely work my butt off! He he) ... Working out more often brings out the best in me and it should for everyone out there who would like to prolong their life and maintain their good health. I hope to take this blessing into my life as I build myself to be the "total" individual that I always wanted to become, but I've never really put so much emphasis in doing so over the last couple of years - until now. "It's time." I don't have to think I'm ready. I KNOW I am ready. I know that I am a great person with extrordinary gifts and talent than what many people already think of me in the past or even now in the present. And it all starts now in shaping and sculpting myself from the outside by exercising and thinking positive ... By the way, the "gut" is disappearing. Definitely good news indeed.

Tennis action - and I need more work!

It's been a long time since I was playing the sport of tennis. Today is the end result of it - aching muscles and having lots of tan on my face, neck, legs, and forearms. In spite of those things, I feel grateful to still have it. I realized that my stamina needs some work. At first, things were going consistent between myself and hitting partner Jimmy. Then we both tired out. However, I do think that my shoes were also a factor. The shoe size was up by one and it felt so loose. It felt rather odd running in those because any moment, they could come right off my foot. Looks like, I'll have to buy new tennis shoes sometime. Call me weird, but I've been buying shoes that is specifically built for a certain activity/function, such as running shoes (for running), walking shoes (for walking), loafers (for working), and boots (for rough terrain). My old shoes definitely need to be thrown away. I still see some in the garage that have already spanned a decade. Also what could increase my strength is flavored water or Gatorade. Last time I sipped on one of those, I performed well. I really need a lot of work physically although I have lost a significant amount of weight lately. Perhaps my body just needs some getting used to the sport after a long hiatus. At least, it's good to be back in the game of tennis.

Uh oh! Roobs to the rescue for young cousin J.V.

Seems that my very young cousin J.V. is very active these days. He has the energy that can keep himself going and going. He can jump. He can dance. He can talk kiddie language. He can run ... But today, running had to be tagged with the word 'caution.' I went along with my relatives to Costco so they can shop for some groceries. At first, J.V. stayed put on the cart, but he couldn't resist wanting to get off of it. So my cousins didn't mind him walking. But he ran and ran wherever he could go to explore new things in his surroundings. Then there were carts going opposite directions in an intersection. He was about to get injured seriously within less than 2 feet, but I definitely won't want that to happen. I chased after J.V. and as he crossed, I grabbed him and we almost slid together on the floor afterwards. It's good to know that he was OK although we ended up in some awkward position of sorts. The onlookers smiled in amazement and held a sigh of relief. It was an awesome moment and I'm glad to have been there when the timing had to be right. It would've been a tragic situation. Last time I played a "hero" of sorts was when I performed CPR on my grandfather who had a fatal heart attack.

What to expect in the times ahead of this website ...

As I'm going to go through a major transition/move/step in my life during the months ahead, so will this website project in all it's leaps and bounds. But first, I had to take care of some fixings right here. Seems like some of my images on JONNYROOBS.NET Central haven't been uploading right lately. What has been seen on the top portion are the annoying "X"s. With the help of my website's tech support, we were able to resolve most of the problems ... I guess you can call this event "a restart" to something great ... So what can we expect in the times ahead here on JONNYROOBS.NET Central? You're just starting to see everything build up all into one big package - the pictures, open-minded blogs, the video footages! It just keeps getting better! Plus, exclusive video (via IMEEM) will start appearing, as well, chronicling my latest adventures! Stay tuned :)

Behind is Cinderella's castle towering above in all its glory. Weather was beautiful. This day marked my first-ever visit to Disneyworld. My friend's family and I took advantage of the weekend as we went to all 4 parks. My childhood dream of going to Disneyworld finally came true. Although it's a bit too late, better late than never, right? ... I returned last March and I plan on going back again when I'll live in FL soon.

Praises for Kate :-)

It's nice to know that actress Kate Bosworth has gained 10-15 pounds lately according to the media. That is good news and I praise her on a good job in doing so (especially from her model boyfriend James Rousseau, who is helping her in maintaining a good health and well-being). Like us, this Hollywood starlet went through times - and is in the process of overcoming them. The same, as well, for Britney who is looking terrific now with a fit, toned stomach we are all used to seeing on the old promo photos. As we've seen Kate before on entertainment TV or on the mags (such as the US issues my brother used to subscribe to), she had a wiry, thin frame and weighed so light like 90 pounds, or something. Hopingly, she'll look as better as ever like her "Blue Crush" days. Kate is still a great sweetheart to movie fans everywhere and I can only wish her the very best in her progress. Keep up the good work.

My IMAX Experience / "Spider-Man 3" Review ...

THE IMAX® EXPERIENCE

I came early (with my company) to get my tickets for Spider-Man 3 at the Virginia Air & Space Center in Hampton. We were later joined up with old friends that we haven't seen in a long time. It's so neat how one movie can bring about a reunion. We waited and waited, but we managed to hang on. And that was a good thing because we were in line early thus giving us the chance to get seats with no problem. This marks my first time watching a movie in IMAX® (short for "image maximum") featuring high quality picture (a five-story screen) and sound (16,000 watts of digital sound) - both a step above from the usual movie theater elements. When I got in, I was awed by the size of the screen. It was huge! The only thing I found disappointing was the space between the rows. There wasn't that much room to move especially if you want to get up just to use the restroom or get a popcorn and soda. Plus, it was crowded, too. The availability of seats (not much compared to an average movie theater) seemed to be a major problem as I felt sorry for those that had a bad view of the movie or had to stand up. The movie looked great on screen and the sound was "out of this world". The results doesn't disappoint, although there was one tiny speckle near the middle of the screen that everyone can obviously spot. However, the IMAX® experience was impressive! I do not mind coming back for another movie, perhaps "Transformers" maybe if it'll go IMAX® 3-D.

SPIDER-MAN 3 REVIEW

After 3 years of waiting, Spider-Man 3 has finally arrived in theaters domestic and worldwide, including that of IMAX®. The movie starts off gradually slow catching up on what's going on with the central characters (Peter Parker, Mary Jane Watson, Harry Osborn) from the last movie. A nice beginning for Flint Marko aka "The Sandman." We notice from the start that there is a compassionate side to the character. Unfortunately after eluding authorities again the second go round, he ends up in a testing facility where he becomes sand in the process. Oh, and watch the end. That's the important thing regarding his character ... "You knew this was coming, Pete!" Ah, ha! He's back and better than ever! And he still hates Peter/Spidey for the death of his beloved father, Norman Osborn. Harry Osborn finally immersed himself into villain mode so easily being his own version of the goblin - acquiring the latest state-of-the-art technology and some of the weaponry his father left behind. His objective: to kill Spider-Man once and for all. By far, Harry steps up a notch in this movie and he shows it in many different facets. You'll notice it and you won't be disappointed ... Mary Jane seems to still show her insecurities and remains fragile and hurt like the last two films. She doesn't remain very faithful to her man Peter and easily forges on making bad decisions - so much that an average guy wouldn't even wanna like her anymore. And what hurts her most, is that Peter seems to be around with one beautiful blonde named Gwen Stacy, a really sweet innocent gal who is stuck in the middle of it all. Can't blame her (Stacy) for what's been going on because she was clueless ... Spider-Man finally connects with the people showing off and he prides himself in all his own egotistical glory. And as his self-confidence builds, some black-colored ooze or goo from outer space takes over him. Peter's transformation (now donning the black Spider-Man suit and a new headstrong, charming yet vengeful personality) is nothing more than entertaining to the audiences watching. Everyone will get a kick out of his new look (dude, it's the hair, man, THE HAIR! lol) and his swaying dance moves while listening to his tunes. I mean, you will laugh your tails off on this one. I found this to be the most enjoyable part of the movie. Then, you can see how angry he can be when he find out who actually murdered his Uncle Ben. Also, see what he does to Harry and Eddie Brock, Jr. (a cocky individual battling for a photo position with Pete)! EEks! I'd be freaked out seeing a hardcore, black-clad, gothic Peter Parker ... Of course his transformation doesn't last forever. Parker tries to rid of it before things get worse. The black ooze now finds it ways to one Eddie Brock, Jr. who prays to God in church over the loss of his girlfriend (Stacy) and job - both to Peter. With revenge on his mind, the ooze finds a new host and inks itself over Eddie. Ah yeah! VENOM is now alive on the movie screen - finally - livin' and breathin' and them TEETH! YES! He looked terrific and superb like his comic-book self ... Just how will Spidey tackle both villains? There's going to be a cool twist to this. However, you're gonna have to see it in a theater near you. I can't give everything away. Remember, this is only a review of sorts coming from my perspective ... The movie overall seems to be convoluted a bit in it's plot and lots of loose questions regarding what's next because of the events that just happened in this movie. There was several to point out that I wanted to address to my company after the viewing ... The CGI effects was fantastic and a step-up from the other Spidey movies. The sand, the ooze - excellent! Seems like they put a lot of work (I mean, MONTHS and MONTHS of it) into getting it together. The story lacked the great dramatic feel from part 1 and 2. There was only little of it here. For action buffs, Spider-Man 3 will not let you down. Harry's Goblin vs. Spidey, Sandman vs. Spidey, The ooze vs. Spidey, and Venom vs. Spidey. All of this in ONE movie. It's doesn't get any better than this! ... The comedy part still remains cheesy especially on Peter's part. Bruce Campbell also pulls off an impressive performance being the Maitre'd at the restaurant trying to help out (along w/ his staff) in Peter's engagement proposal to Mary Jane ... Not that much screen time from Aunt May but she said the thing about "revenge is a poison" so well! She's still amazing ... Well, that's that for now. So, is Spidey-4 gonna happen? We'll see :-)

The Scanner Test: "Which one reigns the winner at my workplace?"

This is something I would like to share with all office-related personnel out there. It's all about scanners, in general, and my own personal experience regarding which brand works best. But let's talk about scanners first for those of you not familiar with it. The function of the scanner is very important in a workplace especially if you want to save physical documents and putting them instead to a PDF digital format. Utilizing today's ever-changing technology makes this happen and the concept of scanning definitely saves room when it comes to archiving vintage as well as new documents for a company. That way, old documents can be finally tossed out forever (if your workplace allows) ... Ok, now let me share you my experience. I got three scanners pictured above. I have used each one: the Canon 3080CII (valued near $2400), the Fujitsu ScanSnap S500 (valued near $350), and the Hewlett-Packard HP N6010 (valued near $440). The results were what I've expected. The S500 and N6010 have similar problems. Both grabbed several sheets of paper all at once (especially sheets that were heavily-stapled for a long time) and the cycle has to be repeated until the problem is finally resolved. In my situation, I had to fan and slightly curl the top left portion of the paper to avoid the papers from sticking to each other during the scanning process. Sometimes that idea worked but it also backfired, as well. In order to further correct the scanning process in flawless fashion, I proceeded on to the 3080CII - the most expensive of the three. It did what I expected it to do. It grabbed the sheets individually from the bottom and later, turns it over on the top portion of the scanner. It totally ruled! It just didn't do what I want it to do, but the starting process was excellent, too. Before I scan on the 3080CII, it told me what to name it first and where I want the document to be scanned into on the computer's directory/folders. With the N6010 and the S500, I had to rename the file once the Adobe Acrobat software is opened and then locate where I want the document to be placed on the computer's directory/folders. And all of that happens right after the scanning process is done, too ... 3080CII is the clear winner while I place N6010 next because of it's sleek roomier appearance and user-friendly keys. Lastly, it would be the S500 because it had a large degree of difficulty in scanning than the other two ... In the end, I found out that money and high-quality performance DOES MATTER in the job I work in.

Feeling good on the road, jammin' to the music!

Here I was this afternoon driving home from work. Weather was great as the sunny skies were prevalent and the temperatures feeling really summer-like! So I took advantage of it. First, I opened all windows in my car including the sunroof above. Then, I was jamming and turning the volume up to the tunes of "Gimme Some Lovin'" by The Spencer Davis group (featuring Steve Winwood on vocals) and "Hurt So Good" by John Cougar Mellencamp. Awesome classics straight out of my iPod (connected to my CD/Stereo deck). I couldn't help it. I was slapping my right leg with my right hand because the rhythm of the songs got me. I just felt great. I didn't think about the usual stuff. For the first time in a longtime, I am so free! Woo hoo!

I saw this portion of "American Idol - Idol Gives Back" last night while I was flipping channels. I know there's some behind-the-scenes CGI technology and camera tricks regarding this, but I thought to myself that it's great television magic with Celine Dion singing alongside "The King," Elvis Presley with the song,"If I Can Dream." I found it cool. Hope you will, too.

Learning life from my best friend's late cousin ...

What you see in the above video clip is a young filipino man strumming his guitar to the tune of "All My Life" (a song made famous by JoJo and K-Ci) and he uploaded that footage himself on his MySpace page. Sadly, he was my best friend's cousin who recently passed away last weekend from a major car accident in Virginia Beach. His life may be taken away but he profounded greatly those that were around him - and (at the funeral) even to those who didn't had the chance to know him well (in which one of them is me). Speakers on the podium spoke well of him at the mass and their own personal testimonies made me know him more as a person. And people in attendance were ranging from relatives, friends, fellow classmates, and even teachers. He stood out with an infectious smile and made the most out of his life appreciating every moment of it right to the very end. The man was gifted, talented and had so much going for him. As he lived, he stressed the importance of being close to family - and it showed so significantly during the aftermath of his passing. In conclusion to it all, the lesson from all this is to appreciate life to the fullest, put forth your very best in what you do, and love those you hold dear for we may never know when that last day to live is going to happen. My friend's cousin truly exemplified the greatness of life :)

On a side note, I looked at his profile page and noticed some real cool stuff. He labeled his occupation as: "Being Considerate of OtherS :D" and one of the people he'd love to meet one day is GOD.

I was compelled with this gentleman's presentation (after he watched Cho Seung-Hui's disturbing video) and I thought it can raise an eyebrow or two regarding the current mind state of the society we live in and the lifestyle we are accustomed to. And should we be to blame too as a society for what happened in the latest VT Univerity tragedy and could Cho's actions have been prevented? The man says it all right here as I make him Video Blog #4 on my "ALL-BLOG" page. The power of the free speech is prevalent always and I give him the open floor to what he wants to say.

What is my own opinion, you may ask? All I can say is that we need to get to the root of the problem as a society and make sure those who are facing a mental crisis (like Cho Seung-Hui) will get the help they really need instead of randomly taking more lives in the process. Let's hope that nothing like this happens again. I do agree that we must make improvements in the society we live in.

Yesterday afternoon, I had the opportunity to browse the internet from my laptop. A tear or two came down from my eyes as I found out who were among the dead. It hurts so much. Many of them were from different cultures and backgrounds. And the nation (as well as the world) mourned as a whole. Through the grieving process we are going through right now, we yearn for hope and faith to mend our broken, fragile hearts. And I decided to do a piece that I found inspiring. I put the Virginia Tech logo and Rocky Balboa's silhouetted image embedded with the words "hope" and "faith." I know we can all get through this day to day. It takes one step at a time. We will.

Prayers & Sympathies For the Victims in the VA Tech shooting ...

Man, I'm hurt - emotionally on this. This violent shooting rampage done by one or two persons should have never happened at all. Those caught in the crossfire weren't supposed to die today. They were there to be educated in a prestigious university and become somebody for a good future. This is so messed up and hearing more about it just breaks my heart.

My heartfelt prayers & sympathies go out to the victims (as well as their families respectively) who were caught in the crossfire during a shooting at the VA Tech campus today ... May God bless them all during this difficult time.

Robinson remembered

Jackie Robinson and his legendary number of 42 will forever be a part of American history, not just baseball history. He broke the color barrier 60 years ago (April 15, 1947) in Major League Baseball as he played for the Brooklyn Dodgers (now based in Los Angeles) on the famous grounds of Ebbets Field and several stadiums across the nation. Robinson went through every ups and downs, especially receiving the negativity from that of the general public. But that didn't deter him from doing what he did best and having passion for the sport. He had great showmanship and exemplified himself as a wonderful human being. He also made memorable plays that remains immortal to this very day in the archives of MLB history. Even though Jackie Robinson passed away 35 years ago, his legacy still lives on among the greats (those in the past and the ones playing baseball today) and those he touched, including his own teammates, his wife Rachel, his children, and grandchildren. There is even a foundation named after him that helps inner city children achieve their dreams. The man is phenomenal. And his enduring spirit lives within us, even in a challenging and complex world we still live in. Robinson is simply without a doubt - an American icon and hero.

The best episode ever of the filipino teleserye, "Sana Maulit Muli"

Just wanted to share with you all a portion of this latest episode of "Sana Maulit Muli." I know it's spoken in tagalog, but it's definitely enjoyable. I've been hooked on this filipino primetime teleserye (soap) since it first aired back in January. If anyone needs translation, best bet is to find someone that speaks and/or understands the language well. Some of my friends love anime dramas. Well as for me, I like this one, for sure and it comes from the country of the Philippines .... The theme of this episode is changing destiny because of love - and that one would go through great lengths to save someone. This is the best episode - ever! Hands down.

The me "now, The me "then" ... a timely lesson.

This blog entry written right here is all dealing about me - the way I was then, the way I am now because of things that happen through time. Wow. So much has changed. People come and go in and out of my life. Unfortunate events that happen are beyond my control and that I can do little to change that. Things are never the same - at all. And with that in mind, all of these elements influences to be the person I am right here and right now. Through losses and gains that I have experienced personally, I realize now that every moment matters with whatever happens and to go forth with the positive even in times of doubt. I am not really fond of what I was then in dealing with the situations around me, but then again it's a part of my own destiny to change and mold myself in impressive fashion NOW. I study carefully and critically on how I handled things back then and to tell you honestly - for the most part, I felt like I didn't do a good job sometimes being impatient, immature and stubborn. Today, I feel more equipped and more headstrong in dealing whatever comes with the consequences that happen through time. As if I have my own coat of armor and ready to prepare for anything. I think I can do more of a better job than my previous self in the past who didn't endure things well. Oh yes, I have changed for the better and I'm proud of what I've done so far - from the outside and most importantly, the inside. Because of what happened, I grew even more as a being - farther than my expectations. I'm so proud of what I have become NOW. Thanks to the many elements that have brought me to the light of change. If God would give me the opportunity to right whatever I did wrong, I'll do my very best to change it.

My own "Chocolate" mobile phone...

I never knew that I'd see this day coming rather quickly in regards to purchasing a new mobile phone. With a $100 credit offered by Verizon (because of my long term relationship w/ them), I realize that I couldn't pass this up. Make this my 4th phone now. And by far, it's the most unique of 'em all. Besides the basic phone/texting functions like most phones, the LG VX8500 "Chocolate" mobile phone can play music and video (almost looking strikingly similar to an iPod or MP3 player). It's sleek, glossy appearance and intimidating color of black makes it look so awesome all it's own ... It's been a few days now and I'm really liking this toy. By the weekend, I'm sure to mess with the rest of the gadgets adding tunes, ringtones, that kind of thing ... So there's another plus in my world of technology. Many special thanks to Randolph and his coworker for the assistance in Verizon. They have been extremely helpful and I really appreciated their input.

MYX TV

A new channel has surfaced from the west coast calling itself MYX, devoted to showing indie artists primarily that of the Asian-American & Filipino culture. MYX has gotten a lot of buzz especially with the commercial that was released a few days ago on TFC (The Filipino Channel) showing a filipino "nanay" (mom). Their website is up, feel free to click on this link and you'll see a lot of insight to the personalities and shows that are featured. Like TFC, MYX is subscription-based. As for me, I'll wait it out for now and maybe buy it sometime in the future probably when I have enough for this. Just wanted to spread the word out to you all out there on this channel. Sometimes word-of-mouth is the key to a product's success. Just remember the letters "M-Y-X!" Cool? Cool!

The latest movie "ROCKY BALBOA" is coming to DVD finally after it's successful run in the theaters surpassing it's production budget of $24 million dollars. The movie has garnered great reviews and is a perfect compendium to anyone who owns the previous ROCKY movies (I-V) aka "The ROCKY Anthology." ... As a special treat, here's a scene from the movie "ROCKY BALBOA" (located above).

90s WWE pro wrestler Allen "Bad News Brown" Coage passes away...

"Bad News Brown" appearing on the Arsenio Hall Show in the early 90s.

More wrestlers are passing away as time keeps going. Road Warrior Hawk. Ray (Big Bossman) Traylor. Eddie Guerrero. Owen Hart. And another is gone. He's Allen Coage (from Canada) better known to all as WWE 90s titular wrestling character heel (bad guy) from Harlem, Bad News Brown. Coage died of a heart attack after complaining of chest pains. He was a legend in his own right (although underrated), especially with his coupe de gras (finishing move) known as the "ghetto blaster."

Who could ever forget the baldness, the beard, the bulging eyes (sometimes looking at the cue cards while doing his Bad News Brown promo on TV), the fearsome (sometimes funny) voice sounding like he was straight from Harlem having sayings like "Beer-bellied Sharecroppers!" (about fans) and "Spineless cockroaches!" (about opponents), and his sweaty look on TV. Coage also was a judo champion winning bronze in the 1976 Olympics. He will be missed by the wrestling world.

Say it ain't so! America's beloved patriotic hero Captain America (created by Marvel in 1941) has been gunned down by a sniper's bullet. For a man who has survived everything (even World War II), he couldn't with this. His death brings about the harsh realities of the world we live in today, especially when it pertains to the bloody violence that we are all familiar with now ... I hope somehow and someway that he'll be alive again. If Superman can, I know that this could be done the same for Captain America. All it takes is a great story writer and an artist to illustrate it. In the comic book world, anything is possible.

I don't know if you heard the saying that one event can certainly change a person's life - that it greatly affected him or her. Well, it did for me, but mine's dealt with 2 major events - one in 2005 and another in 2006. These two weren't connected or related in any way. Each are different from the other. While I do not want to personally delve into the specifics of these as well as giving the respect and privacy to those involved, I can admit here that both were extremely painful to bear emotionally as they were long term. These two were life's burdening lessons for me. I brought the best out of myself in the greatest ways possible even the sacrifices and hardships I had to do - and it wasn't enough to keep the things the way they were and being with the ones I loved so much. As this was happening, I realized that I ignored my own agendas - and even myself (on what I supposed to be doing in my life). Losing it all - really hurts, so bad. Not the best feeling in the world, believe me. As I suffered emotionally, there were those that poured their support and I was so thankful for them coming around when the time was right. I also relied on being isolated from the rest of the world by taking walks to the woods. From there, I looked at my reflection at the ripples of water (from the lake) and flashbacked to the events that have took a toll on me. Then, I found relief. I found peace in myself. These events have shaped the new 'me' and that the old 'me' is fading away to obscurity. I am so "on-point" with things in life now and concentrating to further enhance my lifestyle with no limits and on my own terms. Things I used to do, I don't do anymore and have now made good use of my own time. And the life I took for granted, I'm reclaiming it back. In the end, this'll all make sense somehow when the greatest events start occurring one at a time perhaps to make my 2007 better. No matter what happened between me and those involved in these events, I will always love them for who they are and wish them the best in their endeavors/successes.

Odd and funny...

I've just returned from the Orlando trip and it seems odd to me that my mind thinks I'm still there. How funny it is, too, that my body itself was working at the job and not feeling the pressure. I guess in other words, my mind is still on vacation somehow Johnerick on "auto-pilot" mode. Imagine that. I should be a zombie. Funny indeed!

I'm on the laptop this evening at my parents' home watching the "American Idol" eliminations ... As many of you loyal browsers are well aware, my website has been undergoing a major revision and its still just beginning a major comeback (after a one year hiatus). This week's update, it's all about the Orlando Florida hype because I'm heading there (with my younger brother) Friday for the weekend. However, someone has already been basing judgment on me (in which I do honor that person's open-mindedness and opinion) regarding the status on my personal Christian beliefs and the contents on jonnyroobs.net which seems to incorporate more of the secular, worldy side. I don't feel sorry nor do I have to apologize regarding my image, my represenation. My website has always been what it is: a secular website, for the most part - and I'm not going to change it because someone had a say against it (and that it didn't measure up to par to that individual's Christian lifestyle) ... Perhaps this'll help pave way for my website to carry some Christian inspiration to it, but it'll still be secular ... I am religious and believe in my maker to the full intent. He has helped me through rougher times and have made magnified more on my goals, as well as the appreciation in life iself. When times were down, He pushed me through and through. He made me believe in myself more than I have ever done in my whole 32 year life. I am usually humble when it comes to my Christian beliefs and I keep it to myself, for the most part - not being so ostentatious, priding about it on the internet. However, I did posted the above pic on my MySpace page before a few months ago. I guess the one who wrote to me recently didn't see that (since my profile page there was for private viewing). So there it (the picture) is now - in all it's glory. By the way, I don't judge anyone (instead knowing a person more like a book than just it's cover as it takes one to get to know one) even if they're different from me. I love everybody of all walks of life. This individual doesn't know me that well (probably only meeting me once) and already that person's jumping on me because my page isn't Christian ... I've learned that you can please some (and certain audiences out there won't like it) when it comes to promoting myself on my website of 4 years now ... The website hype still continues. And so shall me - Jonnyroobs. I still got a lot going on in life :)

Sana Maulit Muli "Bilang na ang Oras" Preview

If anyone who has The Filipino Channel watches "Sana Maulit Muli", all I can say is that this 30-minute primetime soap is getting better and better as the story keeps going - and I'm sure you'll agree! I've been addicted to it lately as I've been viewing this alongside my mom. I like the chemistry between the characters Travis & Jasmine (photogenic actors Gerald Anderson & Kimberly Chiu). This is so plot driven, as well, even though there are a few boring subplots here and there. However, I was disappointed at first because I thought the story was really over tragically, but it really wasn't ... This preview shows what's yet to come in the series. For those that don't know the tagalog language, find someone who speaks it and let him/her translate it for you. I did - and it was my mom!

Rocky Balboa ... DVD to be released March 19th.

I got to admit to you all that I have admired the ROCKY series from the very beginning and have enjoyed it throughout the years. And now the last ROCKY movie, "ROCKY BALBOA" will the be the perfect compendium to my ROCKY Anthology. According to Craig Zablo's Rocky Balboa Blog page here on BLOGGER, the DVD is set for release on March 19th. It'll have all the cool stuff including the behind-the-scenes and even the alternate ending. So definitely check that out when you have it in your hands! For all the ROCKY fans out there, it has finally come to this.

Video blogs are to make their respective debut here on JOHNERICK'S "ALL-BLOG" PAGE. This'll happen thanks in large part to the upcoming Orlando (DisneyWorld) trip this Friday. Yours truly will be able to take this to great depths and that I'll be uploading this as my laptop will frequent various Wi-Fi locations, including one of which my friend doesn't live far from. So far, I've got a few ideas in tow. Just what will appear in these video blogs you may ask? It very well could be: during a flight, traveling on the road to Disneyworld, seeing ESPN The Weekend as it happens, OR whatever's cool enough to put in as a segment. What I can tell you now is that this'll be mostly shot using my digital camera (in which the video portion will be a bit grainy as well as the sound quality - but as long as you got visual and sound, it's ok to me). I'll upload them in Quicktime format. So stay tuned, everyone. Wish me the best :-)

Back in full circle ...

After all the wonderful hard-working favors, errands, laboring and even volunteering that I’ve done for just about anybody I’ve met in the last 13+ years, it has finally come to this moment. Everything has come in full circle as the matters now shifts towards helping myself and making things happen. I have all the power to dictate what direction in life I have to go next as well as catering to my own needs and demands, too. Taking these next steps could be crucial, but at the same time, I’m looking forward in putting a lot of fun with it. And I’m just starting to discover more of what I can do in making a huge difference for myself. When that happens, I will be sure to grow more as a person – and even do things I’ve never done before. I just wish this could’ve been fulfilled way earlier that I helped myself at the same time continuing to benefit others along the way in equal fashion. Unfortunately, I can never go back and fill the lost voids in those times. The reason why I feel that I haven’t succeeded much as a person is because I seemed to have ignored myself and my goals as a whole – and now I realize that this was a really big mistake – a bad move! People that I helped in years past have moved on well with their lives and I still keep in touch with some of them on good terms … But some doubters (especially who don't know me that well) think that I cannot succeed well on my own. I’ll take their words as a tool for motivation and strength. And when they do that, it seems that they just woke up a mighty giant from his long rest. I’m certainly up for the challenge. Once I come back from my Disneyworld trip this early March, I’ll be sure to get the ball rolling. The game of my life is about to start and it's the 2nd quarter. It ain't over yet as I'll now be calling my own plays/shots … I’m glad that things are back in full circle to me and that I can now focus to the issues at hand instead of ignoring them. At my age, it’s never too late to dream, to accomplish things, and make it all happen.

I agree: "Leave Britney Alone"

It's past 3AM already. Sunday morning. Wow, I'm still awake - my goodness! ... Yes, it's another blog about Britney - but it's not what many of you would think it is. This is not "Britney-Bashing" at all. From what I've been seeing on the TV tube lately regarding Britney Spears, it was rather disturbing to see her in the center once again (by the ever-following paparazzi) while stopping by with a friend (in the vehicle) at a Mobil gas station. She was minding her business but the photogs just kept flashing and flashing from their cameras. Spears tried her very best to ignore them, but she decided to take matters into her own hands by damaging an SUV with an umbrella (after feeling the frustration of being in the midst of getting photographed several times and followed around). I hope the world will start empathizing more on Spears as she's going through a difficult time. And I'm glad to know that there are certain celebs that have already voiced their support. She really needs the time to be secluded from everything and get herself back on track proving to the world that she can be stronger than what her doubters think. She has to ... Britney is proving, case and point, that enough is enough. She's had it up to here. How would we feel if we were in her shoes? Would you want to do the same thing she did? ... Although I am really not into Britney's music these days nor am I her fan, I solidly voice my support that she needs all the help she can get to be a great individual, a terrific mom to her 2 kids, and a loving family member to her mom, bro and sister Jamie Lynn. And with that in mind, I did not put any recent photos of Britney hitting a vehicle with her umbrella in this latest blog entry. I deem it as unnecessary ... Britney's life is not perfect right now and the same goes with us. The difference is that hers is always being magnified to the world while ours usually remains private between us and those we love. Whether you're a celebrity or just the average person, we're still human beings - and we mess up at certain time in our lives. Hey, I have to admit I have made mistakes, too. Don't we all? ... However, there's always that opportunity to make it all up for the better ... And she's still got time on her side :) So I agree: "LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE."

Meeting Another Redskins' Great: Joe Theismann

I met another legendary icon that played for the Washington Redskins back in the heyday. He is none other than former Redskins Quarterback and current ESPN Monday Night Football Analyst Joe Theismann. Like Mark Rypien, another former Redskins Super Bowl Quarterback, Joe Theismann was also a pretty down to earth, friendly guy when I met him. As I shook his hand, he (Theismann) definitely had a strong, firm grip. The 1983 NFL Most Valuable Player really made you feel like you really belonged with him in his prescence. As I took the picture with him, Theismann really wanted to perfectly position himself in the shot; he definitely set a good a example of how to appreciate his fans. During his time, the autograph line was really long because every Redskins fan know who Joe Theismann is. However, the management at Tidewater Sports & Collectibles at MacArthur Mall in Norfolk, VA was able to keep it organized.

Deep, personal emotional pain can be "good" for the better in us and for the future ...

Every one of us have a personal emotional pain deep down inside of us (based from a personal experience or a major circumstance that we have faced recorded by our brain, the eyes and ears)- and that it hits closest to our hearts, enabling ourselves to hinder this moment from the people around us (because they don't feel it as much as you did - and that they're not "you"). It hurts just to even think about it, but always remember that your chances of facing this again will be never or not at all. That pain can do justice for yourself and the future you build. Use it to regain and rebuild your life to its potential. Be grateful that you have survived and that you're still going forward not allowing to turn back. One of these days when things are okay for the long run, it's best to let the problem (that has been bottled up inside of us for so long) - go. I've had my share of a few BIG ones that I faced, especially one as of recent (almost a year ago), that has affected me greatly and as a result, it brought about a profound change in me on my perceptions having to deal with life. Truth is, it still hurts when I think about it. And it starts the moment I wake up. I wish I could say life is way too perfect for me and be the "poster boy" for it, but it's not. I'm like any one who is fragile about it. But I'll do everything I can to better my life one step at a time realizing this "pain" of mine is something for the good in me.

6:00AM

I find it really weird that I've been waking up twice at 6:00AM "on-the-dot." And my alarm clock settings are at 6:05AM. Hmm, seems that my body is somehow set to it (6:00AM). I guess I can call it a blessing in some way because usually I'd still be sleeping around 10 minutes past the 6:05AM setting.

We all live a story.

We all live a story. Each day feels like a page. And every important/significant event of our life, are collected into chapters. The characters we interact with are either in for the "long haul" staying with us through the years becoming mainly attached to our life, and there'll be minor ones that'll stick around for only a certain period (assuming that we can catch them at some point in our individual timeline OR they will never ever return, unfortunately). The theme of our life will be based on the lessons learned from our own gains and losses. However, there'll be loose plots and subplots that'll eventually cloud the theme for a while (thanks to the interweaving of major and minor characters). Right now, it may be hard to determine where our lives will lead, but as the years go by, perhaps things might start to make a lot more sense. Then there are the tidbits that pace and even slow the story through foreshadowing, flashbacks and the all-out climax finale! ... Now, isn't all this awesome? We DO live a story and we are our own authors. It's up for us to make it what we want to be.

Love's Mysteries...

... if the one you love now (at this very moment) is to last forever or not
... if the one you love is really "the one" or not
... if the sacrifices and tasks you do now (from your generous heart) for your partner really matter or not AND if he/she will do the same for you
... if your partner feels the same level of love like you do
... if the relationship itself is real all it's own or not as you thought it would be
... if your partner is willing to stick together with you through the ups and downs
... if you all are really meant for each other or not
... if you all are strong enough to keep the relationship lasting through time
... if differences occur between you two, would you and your partner try to solve and make amicable solutions?
... if you are loving your partner for the right reasons or not
... if your partner is willing to put so much to make your heart so strong and full of life, instead of breaking it and letting it die
... if you are willing to put your partner first before anything (other outside factors)
... if your partner is as genuine as the words/he she expresses in a letter and in person

There's so much more to mention - and these are a couple of factors that revolves around the mysteries of "love". All of this came out from my mind this morning as I write.

Supporting A Friend.

Supporting a friend is very necessary (and very important) especially if things aren't faring too well in his or her life at a particular moment. This is where the power and value in friendship is at it's all-time high. All I can do is provide that lifeline, that support, that added boost of encouragement - to give him/her comfort when times of doubt start to happen all of a sudden. And that's only what a friend like me can do. It's up for the one affected to pick himself/herself back up and stand strong. I can only be the light - the flame of hope - that can stand prevalent by his/her side through the darkest times. And I know in the end, the light peers through over the darkness ... As I'm writing this, a good friend of mine (whom I known in Virginia Beach for many years now) is going through some ups and downs - but I know in the end, that person will do fine and will be okay.

Implementing necessary changes...

A new year is already in fruition and I need to get things going on the right track. 2006 turned out to be a decent year, but I feel that there is much work to improve on almost every facet in my active lifestyle as an individual. And it all starts with me on how I handle my everyday duties, take in account of my responsibilities, and make sure that my short-term and long-term goals are fulfilled. For the last few years, I have ignored myself and have shifted instead on helping others when the timing was right. 2007 would be that year in which it is time for me to step up my "game" in life ... The "game" mode would revolve around on how I handle the complexities in everyday life and to contain those elements in my own comfort zone, presenting myself to the world on my own terms and to keep things on the positive front to anyone I would interact with, continuing forth in maintaining my health by eating sensibly and working out, treating myself out to current men's fashion (coming up with a more contemporary look in appearance) and getting a full head of hair (moving away of the "bald" look of yesteryear, getting a secure, full-time career (and maybe another job, too, for added income), being more religious and spiritual, make myself available in my schedule/plans when it comes to dating (if ever it happens), and most importantly - continue loving my family and myself as I must appreciate each day to it's finest ... As much as I am already building on my plans, I wish that my closest friends would do the same in their own regard, their own accord. I love them a lot and I can only hope for the best when it comes to their own goals and such. They will need to break the barrier from the norm and make things happen. And it's only them that can fulfill their own pursuit of happiness. If they won't be able to make an effort to seek changes for the betterment in their lives, I guess I might have to go about it alone with mine's (and prove that I can do things by action) and not just saying words (in which I have to totally admit that I have always done thus leading to some occassional failures and setbacks)... So what could happen if I implement these changes now? I can then set forth the foundation securing my chances of buying a home, finding the lady of my dreams, starting my own family, and setting a college fund for my kids. I guess I'm looking further and further beyond. It's amazing how I can be inspired about life and seeking to change.

The loving heart.

There are times for the loving heart ... A time in which it is broken and fragile ... A time when there is a moment of healing ... A time in which it is being mended ... and finally, a time in which it feels renewed and refined to it's finest.

Best Friend

A best friend is someone who solidly supports you through your moments in life, even through difficult circumstances and situations. He/she has to be a motivator, an inspiration, and a beacon of light in your life. A best friend would enjoy your company & presence without limits and with welcome - and would give you that thought to appreciate life even more (than what you can imagine). A best friend has to be THE REAL DEAL, most certainly, within the confines of himself/herself. Through all the people you meet in life, the best friend is what stands above all of them and can be easily noticed (through your eyes) amongst the crowd. A best friend makes you feel like a winner, and most importantly, he/she will never leave you in the blue.

Finding peace in the woods ...

If you live somewhere around the city, there will always be the noises, the distractions, the added stress coming from the people you face and so forth – good enough to give you that big headache for a day. As these become prevalent day-in and day-out, we all come to wonder about an outlet or a place of isolation and remoteness that can let us put these factors aside for the meantime. It’s like we need that escape to a world where we can free ourselves from the daily torment we constantly go against … I look up to the woods as my place of solitude. I feel so much at peace with myself. I can focus deeply on the issues I face without having to be frequently interrupted. Also, the woods help me find more of my identity within and breaking away from most of the ever-changing society’s influences. I can see my reflection so clearly while looking at the lake. I sense the feel of nature’s loving embrace from the mighty wind and breeze that blow amongst the leaves. Taking a moment to be here relieves me from my everyday worries and everyday problems. As if I can regain a renewed sense of optimism, focus, and drive to succeed in my daily goals. I can really feel that … Perhaps writer Henry David Thoreau’s idea of living life in the woods can get us more in touch with nature itself as well as discovering more about ourselves and our purpose/direction in life, too.

Giving "Love"

The most easiest part is giving your whole heart to someone you can love. The most difficult circumstance of it all is assuming if that person feels the same way you do - and - if they'll last through the test of time with you, through the thick of thin with you. The uncertainty to it all lies in the end. You can win OR you can lose. Love can be gained, but it can also be lost greatly in an instant (especially all you've given just for that person to love you). Then, that's when reality sets in: if there was really love or not.

Happiness

Just like leasing an apartment, a vehicle, a computer, or even furniture .... this also can be said about our experiences in life.

Whatever things attract us at this moment through our mouths, eyes, and ears won't even matter in a year or two from now. It'll eventually fade away into obscurity and will be history as we know it. Even the people who we share our company with whether they would be friends, coworkers or a even a sweetheart who you think might be the right one for you. They may be gone, as well, with only a few remaining. Sadly, it seems like we're all living a lease out of everything and everyone in life that we face through the etch of time (as they are supposed to make us merry and oh-so-happy at that exact moment - and its only temporary). Many of these are not to last forever as we are still charting the destiny for the happiness we really wish to seek in our lifetime.

Despite whatever obstacles come that might make us feel like we're losing, let's not hold out hope. I want you to be happy and blessed. Take note that while you're still living, you've got to do your very best within to capture the happiness you yearn for. It has to work from you alone. And you've got that spirit!

While people, trends, and things come and go, your happiness is always there for you for all time. This lease IS forever :)

I look at everywhere around me and all I can do is smile ... seeing that everyone is together AND united, the feeling itself is awesome. I love you, Dr. King ...
