A great equation combining "movie-type b-rated barbarians" and the 80s metal rock band "Twisted Sister" ...

Makes sense, doesn't it? I thought this was a great equation combining the likes of b-rated 80s movie stars (i.e. the Barbarian Brothers - Dave & Paul) AND the 80s metal band Twisted Sister) that summed up to the 80s WWE wrestler known as Ultimate Warrior in the end. The facepaint, the bulked up muscles, the tie-straps on the arms, the multitude of colors, and the hype - everything!! If anyone lived in the 1980s, I'm sure you'll understand :)

The glimpse of the society we live in today.

We still have the richer getting richer and the poor still getting poorer. We are impatient with time and even just the little things alone. We indulge in massive amounts of technology more than ever before buying gizmos and gadgets here and there that have multifunctionality. We have a bad economy - rising gas prices that will never drop and massive job cuts (in which companies now rely on cheap labor outside of the U.S.). Certain athletes are now branded as high-prized villains than the heroes (like in the past) in the sports world because of steroids/HGH supplements, crime, love affairs and being overpaid with little they can bring to a team. We have some people around us that take our soldiers for granted being in a war that they really don't belong to in the first place. We have a health care system that is corrupted not willing to take care of their obligations for someone who is dying or having health complications (refer to Michael Moore's movie "Sicko" and you'll know what I mean). We have some rappers that are millionaires, but yet they never let go of their street life thus getting into trouble and making headlines. We have the young looking up to celebrities like Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and (unfortunately someone who was my favorite at one point in this blog) Britney Spears who will never learn to grow up (being continuously irresponsible) and not take accountability for their actions. Box office results now matter more than the quality of the movies. Some young ladies (in their teens) now resort to experimenting in lesbian sex than straight sex with men. People are obese more than ever as many sit down on their seats surfing the internet on their laptops or playing a game on their video game system. More single parents these days with children to take care of, some of which will never know their mother or father. Everyone's got to have a MySpace page (or an online community type of sorts) if you're around your teens and around the ages between 20 and 40 - even past that. For today's young and even up to my generation, to have a really good fun time now is to either drink heavily, get high, or have sexual encounters. The internet has been a big push benefiting the pornographic industry at an all-time high. Certain people disrespect and make fun of generations past mocking of the things they had that were once hot to them. MTV is no longer THE MTV that most of us knew from in the past. It's now a channel catered and aimed for the young generation instead filled with whacky reality shows ... and that's only a glimpse of the society we live in today. What a world, huh. And it just keeps spinning. Think about it ... the world was never perfect in the first place.

Transformers Animated ... I Don't Like It.

From Seibertron.com: "The news about the Transformers Animated Series is starting to pour in! ... The poster gives us our first look at Bulkhead, Ratchet, Prowl, and Bumblebee. "

The New Transformers Series, "Transformers Animated" will make its way to the TV tube coming in 2008. There'll be 26 episodes in its first season airing on the Cartoon Network. But the results are already pointing towards the negative, especially from "old-school" Transformer fans, like myself, who have seen a couple of TF cartoons here and there throughout the years. On a Transformers fan site called Seibertron.com, many fans are voicing their displeasure of how the robots appear in this cartoon - oddly shaped and exaggerated, as in most of the other series out there that are produced and animated by the Cartoon Network. The 2-D animation itself is something I do not even find to be satisfying and is SO incomparable to the way they looked in the very first Transformers cartoon launched in 1984 that included Peter Cullen as the voice of iconic hero Autobot leader Optimus Prime (as well as playing the same character that made him famous in the upcoming "Transformers" movie opening July 2nd)... I'm sure there'll definitely be good storylines (in which I hope it will) associated with this new installment to the Transformers mythos, but I think they need to get off of this type of animation since most cartoons at this day and age seem to look like each other. I'm truly disappointed to see how 2-D is looking these days. Very "family-friendly" which is a plus to the kids and their parents, but definitely lacking the quality in the art - awful, just AWFUL! The little "me" is crying right now - waaaah waaaah! (LOL) Even a kid could even possibly beat these artists animating this - and heck if it works, give him or her a job - and even a RAISE! I hope it's not too late to change the look somehow. The show is gonna be excellent for the next generation of Transformers fans (primarily younger kids). Bad for the older ones like me. No matter what, we'll all have a piece of the Transformers legacy.

Whoa, Kim! I CAN'T DO THAT AT ALL. LOL.

While her on-screen character Melody Go contemplates, actress Kim Chiu proves her flexibility.

Whoa, Kim! I CAN'T DO THAT AT ALL. LOL. She's amazing in this unusual pose as her character Melody Go is thinking deeply about her on-screen crush, Matteo. I saw this videobit on my laptop's Windows Media Player and it definitely wowed me the second it appeared. It's the fourth episode of "Gokada Go" (formerly titled "Let's Go") on the ABS-CBN Network (based out in the Philippines)! Kim Chiu (of Chinese descent adopted by the Philippines as a Filipina) has had a streamline of success since she had her claim-to-fame in the reality show "PBB (Pinoy Big Brother) Teen Edition" a few years back. The 17-year old sensation last starred in her first primetime teleserye, "Sana Maulit Muli" (see preview HERE) alongside her PBB alum Gerald Anderson who is often paired with her in TV and movie projects ("Aalog-alog"/"Love Spell"/"First Day High") including their latest one on "Gokada Go!" She has also done TV spots seen HERE and HERE via YouTube.com. Oh, these commercials are not in English, so I suggest you have to bear with it or grab a filipino alongside you to translate. LOL. Kim Chiu has also just recently released her first-ever solo album after she proved her versatility in her vocal range in Sana Maulit Muli's soundtrack single called, "Mine" (see a video footage of her performing HERE) and on PBB Teen Edition singing with Julie Iris Fernandez (from MYMP) with "Peng You." (see this HERE) ... Whether she's flexing in some weird pose (like the image above), promoting a tampon or haircare product (at the longest running time), acting her best (in a comedy or a primetime teleserye), or even singing to the crowd, she'll certainly draw major attention. She shows promise of a good future in the show business in the Philippines.

A "SHAZAM" movie in-the-future with Brandon Molale & Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson???

Image Sources: (movies.go.com,yahoo.com,art.com,wikipedia.org)
Actual artworks: Alex Ross, J.G. Smith

Will there be a "Shazam" movie in sight starring both Brandon Molale ("The Longest Yard"/"Mr. Deeds"/"Balls of Fury") and wrestler-turned-action star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson ("The Scorpion King"/"Gridiron Gang"/"Doom")? It may be possible, but problem is, a script hasn't been even written yet. However, many in the internet world want to consider Molale in vying for the role of DC Comics-based hero Shazam (the protagonist/good guy) and "The Rock" (the antagonist/ baddie) going for the opposite as Black Adam. Molale (an actor who has mostly played supporting roles throughout the years) is overwhelmed of the attention that is happening. And perhaps this could be his opportunity to have a signature role, like it was for Brandon Routh, an unknown actor, who took over Christopher Reeve's memorable role as Superman - the most famous DC Comics character up-to-date!

He stated to EOnline: "There's a lot going on. My name and The Rock are the two names. I had people contact me over a year ago about this. So I said, Hey, you know what, look. If there's any DC or Marvel character that I look like, it's this guy. The similarities are ridiculous. I said I would love to do it. The script hasn't even been written yet. But I'm just flattered that they're even considering me. I was shocked. They're making every comic-book movie as it is, and it's like, you know, I know my abilities as an actor. I'm a good actor. I just need someone to give me something I can sink my teeth into"

Molale also would consider having "The Rock" aboard saying, "You know, he works out in my gym, and I've known Dwayne for years. I was in 'The Rundown' with him. So, it's, like, he's a great guy. There's a character named Black Adam in the Captain Marvel world. And he's actually evil. And [The Rock] looks a lot more like Black Adam than he does Captain Marvel. So, I would love to see him play the bad guy. You don't ever see Dwayne play the bad guy…and who doesn't want to be the villain?!"

Brandon Molale and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson did indeed starred together in "The Rundown," as Molale noted on his quote.

"The Rock" continues his hot streak of success as a big time action star in the movies after leaving the wrestling world not-too-long-ago playing one of the most memorable characters in the World Wrestling Federation (now called "World Wrestling Entertainment" aka WWE) known to trash-talk his opponents and "laying the smackdown on someone's candy a**!" However, he does put time to always show once-in-a-while on the WWE's wrestling show "Raw" for his fans on some occassions, so a comeback to wrestling is possible.

Let's hope Hollywood will listen. Seems that even the fans themselves already have the perfect choices! I definitely would agree - Molale and "The Rock" are ideal for the roles of Shazam and Black Adam. They even look the part! Look at the images very closely. Totally cool, huh.

You two got my vote.

Ahhh, the comic-book-to-movie ideas continue on and on. With the success of "Spider-Man 3," the trend will never end.

32 Years In Retrospect ...

Time goes by so fast in the life of Jonnyroobs. What a journey 32 years has been for me. Looking back at everything that I have experienced, faced and endured, I believe there is so much room to improve and enhance my lifestyle furthermore.

I didn't had too many friends like many kids around my age (at the time) - and to this very day, as an adult. Even though in smaller numbers, I got the greatest circle of friends in the whole wide world. I didn't even have any recollections of great high school or college moments worth remembering - and definitely would like to forget forever. I've never had the getaway vacation with the family as they preferred to stay at home instead. I was the kid that never had a Happy Meal (with a toy) in McDonalds. I've had a lack thereof in communicating with my relatives from the Philippines and even in the U.S. I've never had a rewarding career after graduating from college. I feel like I am still invisible to the community that I have voluntarily given my time to. I've had a few setbacks in every relationship (with a lady) as each became a painful lesson to learn from. I was never the 'one' people would refer to as 'popular.' I felt that I gave in too much into helping certain individuals as the end-result wasn't what I expected from them - even worse is that they don't have the ounce of careness that I gave and shared. I live in a neighborhood for so long that I've never even moved away. I've always been stuck with the family (especially Mom & Dad), sometimes feeling not confident enough to grow up more because I was with them for so long. I'm considered to be a friend to certain people right now, but yet I question of my role, my significance, my importance in their lives and even questioning the friendship, itself.

What a life, huh. And I've survived it. Well, IT IS what IT IS. And that's only a snippet of what I can describe my 32 years so far. I was honest in mentioning those and didn't held anything back. Right there is my long road to where I am now. I refer to the old days as "Book One." Now, I am getting ready for the next chapter of my life:"Book Two" and the events that will follow. The new introduction to my life will start in a new location, a new place with an important character (from the past) who lives there and is willing to give me that new head start on life. Plus, I have total direction to where I want my life to go - on my own terms, and on my own decisions. With a fresh start, I feel that there will be a lot of success along the way and the sacrifices that come, too.

When closing my old life (Book One), I feel that there were some good moments too rather than most of the bad stuff I mentioned already up above. I'm grateful that I have a family that loves me unconditionally no matter how much of a headache I have put to them throughout the years. They have steered me in the right direction in which I never resorted to drugs, alcohol, or being in fights that could result in a bad rep. I have a good set of friends that have come to know me so well for those many years. And most of all, I realized that no matter what happens, my careness for the caring and uncaring will remain intact. I will always be there someway, somehow.

I have to honestly say "straight up" that not too many people know me that well in full-detail and that some would already jump to conclusion to judge me or think of me in a negative light. Just like I notice my flaws from years past, I see the same in them, too. No matter what, I hold no grudges ... so ... what will I do now? All I can do is move on and strive forth to be the best I can be as each day goes by. That's what's so amazing about life. Every day doesn't have to be the same. It's up for all of us to enhance our lives the best way possible with no limits despite of what happened in the past. We are all a work-in-progress.

Just take this to heart:

"Do what you love. Love what you do."

"Watching my life go down"

"Watching my life go down! ... watching my life go down!" ... Or is it not? Don't worry. My life isn't really going down, folks. It's just the verse of an old R&B song from a couple of years ago called "Full Of Smoke" by the duo named Christion (formerly from the Roc-A-Fella label) in which I kept singing to myself on the way home today. It was so catchy that in my mind, it kept repeating and repeating. This was one of the first line of neo-soul tracks from back in the day. Then along came more neo-soul artists to listen to such as John Legend, India Arie, Musiq Soulchild, and Macy Gray, all of whom I am still getting to know their style, their grooves in my iPod. I hope there'll be more neo-soul artists in the times to come .... And once again, my life is not going down. lolz. It's just a song :)

The Return of THE Movie Icon Heroes!

Picture Sources: ComingSoon.net & StalloneZone.com

It's official. Movie icon heroes - Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) and John Rambo (Sylvester Stallone) - are back in their respective sequels to the hottest movie franchises that they've made those many years ago - "INDIANA JONES" TRILOGY and "THE FIRST BLOOD/RAMBO" TRILOGY. Even though time has indeed passed, age has not stopped these two from making another action sequel to the movies that made them very synonymous with the American culture. And they will both headline the summer movie line-up next year in the movie theaters. Also, the two actors are above the age of 60, well past their prime now. There seems to be no signs of slowing down. For Harrison Ford, his last film "Firewall," a cyberspace-related suspense thriller, didn't fare too well in the box office only generating a few million dollars. However, it still shows that Harrison is tailor-made for all-out action. And with "Indiana Jones 4" already on (teaming up with producer Spielberg and Lucas), he's ready to prove to the world again that he's one major powerhouse in the box office and Hollywood since his glory days of the "INDIANA JONES" trilogy (aka "Raiders of the Lost Ark"/"The Temple of Doom/"The Last Crusade") , The "STAR WARS" trilogy (playing the favorite character of Han Solo in "A New Hope"/"The Empire Strikes Back"/"The Return of the Jedi"), the JACK RYAN movies (i.e."Patriot Games" and "Clear and Present Danger), and his unforgettable role of the kick-a** president in "Air Force One." Can he repeat his success alongside stars Jim Broadbent, Cate Blanchett, John Hurt and Shia LaBeouf? It is certainly possible for one Harrison Ford ... For Stallone, his career also dwindled a bit making low-budget straight-to-DVD movies for a couple of years. His only smash hit in-between was "Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over" playing the infamous, cheesy character "Toymaker" (and his many clones of sorts) opposite Antonio Banderas, Carla Gugino, Salma Hayek, Alexa Vega, and Daryl Sabara. But we all know that a kiddie movie like this was #1 because it was already synonymous with kids in its previous movies - and not about Stallone, alone. He also appeared in another movie called "Driven" but its probably so forgotten now. However, there was that beloved character he created that never left him: "ROCKY." He thought he correctly bidded farewell to ROCKY BALBOA and the ROCKY series in the 1990s but he feels now that the ending wasn't right. With low box office results and criticism from some critics and the public, it was obvious - they didn't liked "ROCKY V." The idea of bringing back the character of ROCKY was always on Stallone's mind, but it was never brought to fruition until he published part of the new script on his magazine "Sly." And after those many months and years of the hero ROCKY BALBOA in limbo, he has returned once more for one more round - this time having the movie titled under his character's first and last name. Stallone carried the production from Los Angeles, Las Vegas and to his character's hometown of Philadelphia. In the new movie "ROCKY BALBOA", Stallone starred opposite "ROCKY" regulars Burt Young and Tony Burton, as well as bringing back an original character he fought from the first film of the series. The only drawback to this was that Talia Shire (Adrian) could not be in it because Stallone wrote the beloved character to die from "woman's cancer." However, there were new faces as well - Geraldine Hughes (playing "Marie") and Milo Ventimiglia (playing his son "Rocky, Jr./Robert") - both playing important classic, key characters in the franchise. The other star is real-boxer Antonio Tarver (playing Rocky's opponent "Mason Dixon"). The $25 million movie production resulted in box office success last December surpassing it's budget and meeting critical and public praise. It also renewed the interest in the entire "Rocky" franchise to a whole new generation as well as rekindling ties with the older audiences (like me, at age 32). With "ROCKY BALBOA" becoming Stallone's greenlight to stardom once again, he is ready to put another hero (John Rambo) back-to-work after so long - in a new film called "JOHN RAMBO" (yet named again after the character). The new $50 budgeted project that is currently finishing production has already garnered a lot of hype with the help of internet browsers thanks in large part to Stallone's good pal Harry Knowles' site, AintItCoolNews.com (in which he helped uploaded a 3-minute teaser of the new "JOHN RAMBO" movie there). The results is overwhelming - up to over 800,000 downloads. However, this isn't the JOHN RAMBO that everyone was familiar with for those many years in "First Blood","Rambo First Blood Part 2", and "Rambo III." We go deeper with him now and get more depth to the character, more than ever before. Plus, there are very graphic, intense killing/execution scenes that can raise a lot of eyebrows and perhaps make you vomit and throw up if you're not brave enough to see it. Despite that, "JOHN RAMBO" shows promise despite it's lack of starpower (besides the awesome Julie Bentz who is smokin' hot!) ... In conclusion, the heroes are back and better than ever! We will have to see which one of them will emerge victorious in the box office. Will either one of them win OR will there be another movie that's going to take them down? All of this, to be decided in the summer of 2008. It's the return of THE Movie Icon Heroes.

Everything around us is 'expendable'

Everything around us is 'expendable.' It means disposable, consumable and unessential. What you 'see, touch, and use' applies to that ... The music CDs we buy that's so hot right now, the current technology we crave and yearn for in electronic products (ranging from TVs, computers, digital cameras, camcorders, MP3 players), the news that is hot off the press now at this very moment on TV, etc. Heck, even our sports world is filled with overhyped, overpaid athletes - and even a team's next saga after winning the championship ... Then there's this bad side to all of what was mentioned. It's all expendable. When it comes to the CDs we buy, where would we go to get rid of 'em? Pawn shops, flea markets, or even on Amazon or eBay to get some extra money. The same goes for the technology, too. Feeding off from the last one, we go for another product similar to the ones we own already - just a step higher and advanced. And the news. Where's the story on A-Rod (Alex Rodriguez of the NY Yankees) trying to get up with a blonde-haired stripper? That's old now as the sports media is currently focused on his success in baseball. Also, how long will this Paris Hilton jail-story go? Probably not long enough and we'd even totally forget she was even in jail. Then there's the athletes. When they succeed, there'll be those that'll be cut short because of their low-grade performance. It even sucks so bad to see how the sports world itself has become a lucrative business robbing sports tradition of years past. An example of this is the draft in which college athletes are being paid millions and they haven't yet even played a game in the professional league. Then in the middle, things don't get to go their way - and then they wind up in some other team with low pay and all that hype - ultimately - gone. For the team that won a championship, the press is not even interested in just the 'win' anymore. They look forward to next year and see how the team will fare then. As if the championship is only a lasting memory to those involved ... See how expendable things are in our lives? Take it on a personal level, folks - in your own perspective. Happens to me. Expendability happened in most of my life. I bought stuff a long time ago that no longer interests me these days and instead wasted my megabucks on. And then there are people that were once called friends at some point in time, as well as ex-girlfriends who once thought of me as the most important part of their lives (come to find out that I became expendable to them all once they got what they really wanted than me)... Seems that in this world, in this day and age, nobody is satisfied with anything or even anyone - instead lasting temporarily for a short period of time. Being expendable is a part of our lives whether we like it or not. I got to admit it doesn't make me any happy and that some of this does hurt so deep in me especially the people that made me like this in the first place. But what can I say. We just got to keep our head up and look for hope beyond this. And even our bad chapters can be expendable too as we move on.

Ice Cream + Bread = Tastes Really Good!

Mom's got my appetite goin' on with this combination of Vanilla flavored ice cream and untoasted white bread. Tastes so good! Try it sometime, folks. This may turn out to be your favorite. Now I don't know how this idea got started in her, but perhaps it must've been when she was a child.

PICTURE BLOG #6: "The Fellas At Prime Outlets (Williamsburg)"

PICTURE BLOG #6: This digital photograph of my friend Raymond, myself and my acquaintance/associate Jimmy was taken by a friend of ours, Ralph, on Sunday, June 17th. We were on-location at Prime Outlets in Williamsburg checking out various stores in the shopping complex. There were a couple of best buys here and there, but we came home empty handed unfortunately. Perhaps next time maybe we'll get something probably in the near future. What really made us happy is that we made good use of the weekend hanging out and being someplace else other than the hometown city we all dwell in.

Hollywood moviemakers, listen to the people!

This entry goes to the Hollywood moviemakers out there. Whether you all would want a creative storyline, character, plot, and even designs, try to get the ideas from people who make amateur flicks that are shown on YouTube.com, iFilm or various outlets on the internet that people can upload and stream their videos. Sure, they (the people) may not have the money/finances to back up most of what's in their heads, but I tell you they have the passion and drive to make any movie - even if it's by means of using computer graphics (aka CGI). One example is that of the Star Wars franchise. There are an influx of amateur movies in which people portray themselves as spinoff characters (or even the characters themselves) from the series. Then one can go low budget, too. Plus, some don't even get paid to do it. Heck, even a friend of mine's and his pals got their own lineup of movies too with their own sequels and such under their own production. Hollywood moviemakers, you are more than welcome to collaborate your future works with those that want a shot at production. The amateurs are phenomenal in what they do and from what I see, there is so much potential to what they can bring to the table.

Re-affirming my faith in humanity...another fast food story.

Yesterday, I thought it was best for me and my friends to head to down to Williamsburg. And by the weather we've had, we couldn't ask for a better time. It's always good to be far away from home every once in a while checking out various places that we never or barely seen before. Whether it'd be a glimpse of a roller coaster ride on Busch Gardens or scoping out for products and items at a factory outlet mall, it was worth it! Then, there was this awesome moment. Me and my pals entered the fast-food atmosphere yet again. But it wasn't something bad at all, instead it was good - so good that it "reaffirmed my faith in humanity" as Mike Greenberg (co-host of Mike & Mike in the Morning on ESPN Radio) would say regarding his own situation of it. Well here's mine's. My buds and I finally got the great customer service coming from that of a beautiful Russian lady (assumingly she's a student from The College of William & Mary nearby). She listened very well, had an an awesome smile and enthusiasm, and that she acknowledged us not just by her wonderful accent saying "thank you," but it was her also bowing slightly to us. Even the workers did good on their part getting the order processed and finished. That my friends, was a reaffirmation of my faith in humanity. She and others did an exceptional job like the actors who play the fast food workers in a commercial spot. She gave us THE customer service and common courtesy that we've yearned for - after so long, after some of the bad treatment we had at our home city regarding fast food spots. She just lit up our BAD world.(Note: Refer to my past entries on some of the BAD customer service we've had before). Imagine how fast food chains would be with plenty of good people like her! Much praise to her :-)

MYSPACE VID: Fun at the beach (and what's this???)

Here's yet another video brought to you by my cousin Erick - shot through a digital camera. He is with his high school friends at the oceanfront beach having fun. Now you'll have to see what they're trying to SHOW here (What's this???? You'll see). And for some of you, it may be deemed as offensive so I caution you on the content. I did not endorse this video nor am I responsible for what it contains. It's all strictly - for fun and for humor. Erick always comes up with the most hilarious and funny videos uploaded straight from MySpace. My congrats once again to my cousin and his Bayside High graduating class of 2007!

MYSPACE CLASSIC BLOG: "Happiness"

Just like leasing an apartment, a vehicle, a computer, or even furniture .... this also can be said about our experiences in life.

Whatever things attract us at this moment through our mouths, eyes, and ears won't even matter in a year or two from now. It'll eventually fade away into obscurity and will be history as we know it. Even the people who we share our company with whether they would be friends, coworkers or a even a sweetheart who you think might be the right one for you. They may be gone, as well, with only a few remaining. Sadly, it seems like we're all living a lease out of everything and everyone in life that we face through the etch of time (as they are supposed to make us merry and oh-so-happy at that exact moment - and its only temporary). Many of these are not to last forever as we are still charting the destiny for the happiness we really wish to seek in our lifetime.

Despite whatever obstacles come that might make us feel like we're losing, let's not hold out hope. I want you to be happy and blessed. Take note that while you're still living, you've got to do your very best within to capture the happiness you yearn for. It has to work from you alone. And you've got that spirit!

While people, trends, and things come and go, your happiness is always there for you for all time. This lease is forever :)

My Message To All.

In a world that's now being filled with greed, power, and money from all around (i.e. highly overrated/overpaid celebrities and athletes, corporate tycoons particularly those eyeing on property and even oil, companies downsizing jobs for cheaper labor -- blech!!!!), many have left the thought of what was once simple and golden. Important values that were held dear for generations and generations by our descendants and family line are now on the verge of extinction, instead replaced now with wordly possessions and the need for more materialistic things (even them multifunctional technological devices) and such just to appease our life taking it to another level. We must let go of most of these before it starts to consume us more and make us heartless and perhaps more selfish and foolish, like what it did to me (yep, I'm being honest about it). We must focus on how we can regain the quality of life to our own standards - and not by what the world, or people go through in this everchanging society. Just look around you and magnify ten times more. Do you feel like you're changing along with your surroundings and the world's? All I can say is slow down a bit with the pace, use your heart more often, give decency and respect to those around you, and instill values such as giving and helping those in need. Also, improve your quality of life realizing your own flaws and mistakes rather than saying something bad about someone (as many would do these days). Ease a bit on the technology, too, as you can save money for something more important than those ... Throughout the last couple of years, I felt like I wanted it all (all of it) . Then I realized now that there's far more important things to improve my life upon besides those ... Living life is simply amazing especially on how we can control it all on our own terms and by our own means :)

The Sopranos' ending: What can be learned from a finale...

Many people watched the Sopranos' series finale last night on HBO and a majority of 'em were disappointed by the ending which "cut to black" all of a sudden. They definitely wouldn't "Fuhgeddabout it" as it was discussed everywhere the next day (today). As for me, well, uhm, I've never had a chance to watch a single Sopranos' episode, to tell you the truth. I'm one of the unique individuals who actually ignored it ever since it began a couple of years ago. For sure, it'll be a show to talk about in the years to come and that it's already becoming an iconic American classic all it's own. And that's how it is with other shows that have ran successfully in mainstream America. Most of 'em are already on DVDs (i.e. Entourage, Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, The Shield, etc.) some of which have yet to see it's ending on TV. And this is the part where TV land is ripping us off with our hard-earned money. I believe the DVDs should be released when the whole series is completely over - as in OVER! Then that'll do us more justice. Even more satisfying is that they should play reruns of some of these shows on a certain network. With all the channels you can get on cable or dish networks (which is on just about every household today), there should be reason to! Hmm, they should do this ON DEMAND, too. Imagine how wiser we would be to save rather than spending $$$ on a well-beloved series' that's about to have a crummy ending. C'mon people, let's start this trend!

My new quote on my MySpace profile receives praises

"It's only you that can make your life happy and the best - ever to the way you want it! You really can't depend on anybody for this part, but yourself."

Just wanted to let you know that my latest quote (above) which appears currently on my MySpace profile page received numerous praises and I thank those who were able to comment on it by way of MySpace notes and comments. It's true, especially in my life, after all the events that happened. In the end, it all goes back to 'me' in full circle - and that's how I can achieve more of the inner peace that I've been trying to find in my lifetime.

Leaving things behind; focusing forward to the future - in a new place ...

In the next few months (around 90 or so more days left), I'll be ready to start my life anew and fresh. A new zip code to live in. A new phone number to exist for my mobile phone. A rewarding career. New roads and routes for my car to drive to. A new set of people to meet and call "friends." Old friends and my dear family still around communicating to me by way of cyberspace and on the phone. Other old faces in the next city yet to be reunited with. Reacquainting myself with an old friend from the past who will be a major force in my transition there. Time to leave all of the past (including the painful ones) in my old place. Ready for more responsibilities and total independence! It's like scripting a new chapter in my life. It doesn't get any better than this. This is all I'm thinking of right now at this moment - to prepare for this outing. I am really looking forward to it. For now, I'll breeze through Virginia and enjoy the last days for what they are worth perhaps with several people whom I love dearly ... It's never too late to enjoy what life has still yet to offer. There's always hope and the dream and finding that pursuit of happiness, especially after all I've went through in life :)

Nice song from back n' da day - Boyz II Men's "Water Runs Dry"

Boyz II Men - "Water Runs Dry"
We don't even talk anymore
And we don't even know what we argue about
Don't even say I love you no more
Cause sayin' how we feel is no longer allowed
Some people will work things out
And some just don't know how to change
Let's not wait till the water runs dry
We might watch our whole lives pass us by
Let's not wait till the water runs dry
We'll make the biggest mistake of our lives
Don't do it baby
Now they can see the tears in our eyes
But we deny the pain that lies deep in our hearts
Well maybe that's a pain we can't hide
Cause everybody knows that we're both torn apart
Why do we hurt each other
Why do we push love away
Let's not wait till the water runs dry
We might watch our whole lives pass us by
Let's not wait till the water runs dry
We'll make the biggest mistake of our lives
Don't do it baby

Anjanette Abayari

To the Philippine movie industry, her name was very synonymous in the 1990s especially when she was doing a modernized version of a super-hero classic called, "Darna" (the Philippines' equivalent to Wonder Woman). Anjanette Abayari was met with success and being known to many. Seemed that things were going her way. However, her stardom seemed to be in the dust after 2000, especially after President Estrada banned her from the country because of drug-related matters and that the government were looking for celebrities harboring in drugs. Her arrest happened in Guam. However, in an online article HERE, she denied using drugs and that there were traces of drugs found in her make up kit unbeknownst to her. I wonder what she's been up to lately after all this. I was watching a few clips of "Darna" on YouTube and although it is rather cheesy or corny by today's standards, there's still that great sense of appreciation to it. It's one of the best things we can remember her by. She was also the good-looking chick in Timmy T's classic music video, "One More Try" a song that was very popular during my high school days. See young Anjanette in her very best HERE ... I don't know what the future holds of Anjanette Abayari. I hope she resurfaces back to stardom. It's only a matter of time that the Philippines will see more of her again. For now, she's probably enjoying the U.S. life and finding the peace through it all. Lasting images of the model-turned-actress are also found HERE and HERE again ... It is also known that she was a Raiderette cheerleader for the NFL's then-L.A. Raiders ... Come back real soon, Anjanette :-)

June 2nd: A Day To Reflect on Happiness & Sadness.

Today is Saturday. A friend of mine's is having his baby baptized in the church today and that it is a happy moment for him and his family. Elsewhere, another friend (along w/ her family) is grieving over the loss of a family member, as her funeral is set at the same day. And this moment is indeed sad. At the same time, I feel "happy" and "sad" regarding these events. All of this is a cycle - life and death. Through it all, we have to make the most of life while we are still living.
